Legislative Aide/Manager, Full-Time

The Civil Justice Association of California (CJAC) seeks a political enthusiast to join a small but impactful team in a fast-paced role with the hybrid remote work options.

CJAC is a long-established Sacramento-based legal reform advocacy organization that works in both the Legislature and the courts to reduce frivolous litigation against businesses.

The legislative aide/manager role reports to CJAC’s vice president and chief lobbyist.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze and research legislation
  • Manage tracking of legislative hearings and deadlines
  • Schedule and coordinate advocacy meetings with legislative offices  
  • Prepare position letters and educational handouts
  • Attend/monitor Legislative committee hearings and floor session
  • Prepare membership communications in Mailchimp
  • Prepare and manage social media communications
  • Research and compile political data
  • Staff association meetings and events
  • Provide general office support
Desired Qualifications
  • California legislative process experience
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office, CRMs, and Mailchimp
  • Bachelor’s degree
