Legislative Aide/Manager, Full-Time
The Civil Justice Association of California (CJAC) seeks a political enthusiast to join a small but impactful team in a fast-paced role with the hybrid remote work options.
CJAC is a long-established Sacramento-based legal reform advocacy organization that works in both the Legislature and the courts to reduce frivolous litigation against businesses.
The legislative aide/manager role reports to CJAC’s vice president and chief lobbyist.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and research legislation
- Manage tracking of legislative hearings and deadlines
- Schedule and coordinate advocacy meetings with legislative offices
- Prepare position letters and educational handouts
- Attend/monitor Legislative committee hearings and floor session
- Prepare membership communications in Mailchimp
- Prepare and manage social media communications
- Research and compile political data
- Staff association meetings and events
- Provide general office support
Desired Qualifications
- California legislative process experience
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects
- Experienced with Microsoft Office, CRMs, and Mailchimp
- Bachelor’s degree
