John Doherty, President
John Doherty, prior to joining CJAC, was responsible for remaking, managing and expanding a fifty state advocacy and political team for the technology industry at TechNet as their Vice President of State Policy and Politics and General Counsel. Prior to that, he served as Vice President, State Government Affairs at UnitedHealth Group and Chief of Staff to California State Majority Leader Alberto Torrico. He also managed Torrico's campaign for Attorney General. Doherty received a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law and received a Bachelor of Political Science from Santa Clara University. He is a member of the California State Bar and practiced for six years before entering government service. Doherty and his wife have two children and reside in Sacramento.
